It’s celebration time for Greystones South Beach Playground Committee, following a large donation of over €70,000 to the campaign. This donation has meant that the Committee have reached their target fundraising goal of €100,000, which will go towards building an inclusive playground in Greystones where children of all abilities and ages can play side-by-side.
Niamh Egan, Chair of the Committee said:” The generosity of this donation has taken us by surprise and has left us all in a little state of shock. It now means the playground will become a reality much quicker than we thought possible. Whilst, we have essentially finished our main fundraising campaign, we know many families would still like to be part of the playground by getting their ‘Name on the Wall’ and they can still do that from the home page on our website until June 30.”
Cllr Jennifer Whitmore said “The donor would like to remain anonymous, but we would like to express our sincere thanks to him and his family for this incredibly generous donation. It now means that we can move on to the next stage of works and begin the tender process with Wicklow County Council. This would not have been possible without his support and we are very grateful.”
Keep tuned for more details and timeframes for delivery of this fantastic community initiative.
